ScoobyMania are pleased to announce that we have just completed development of a 2.5Litre performance package that is capable of making over 550bhp on 95RON Petrol! (The lowest grade of petrol available in the UK).

The brief for this particular car was to achieve the widest and highest power curve possible on 95Ron fuel.

The Engine features our own Stage 3 motor, this one featuring our own spec pistons/pins and ring gaps to cope with the lower grade fuel quality. The engine is fully blueprinted (a very miss-used term!) with our own clearances. Carefull consideration is also given to the crank/block and bearing oil ways to insure good flow and lubrication.

The heads feature Kelford cams with double springs and titanium retainers utilizing the small port heads and stock sized valves. The increased breathing coming from our port work, focusing on the short radi and swirl characteristics (we've seen plenty of big port heads hogged out as much as possible - this just destroys velocity especially in the low - mid rpm area) . The 2.5 needs careful lobe and timing selection (different dwell time, piston acceleration from tdc & bdc etc).

The entire fuel system is upgraded and includes internal and external fuel pumps, AN equipped swirl pot, custom fuel rails, braided hosing, appropiate injectors and regulator.

The 'air system' features a Garrett turbocharger unit with external wastegate (which is replumbed back to the exhaust to keep noise levels to a minimum). Our own race intercooler, exhaust manifold, up & down pipes and rear silencer.
